Top-Chem 2000 — Modified PTFE Gasket (filled with silicon carbide)
Top-Chem 2000 is a silicon-carbide filled PTFE sealing sheet engineered for low creep, superior chemical resistance and long-term tightness in demanding flange joints.
Description
Top-Chem 2000 is a heavy-duty modified PTFE sealing sheet filled with silicon carbide (SiC). It delivers PTFE’s outstanding chemical resistance while significantly reducing cold-flow (creep) and offering superior mechanical strength at elevated temperatures and surface pressures. Top-Chem 2000 is engineered for demanding chemical, petrochemical and ship-building applications where long-term tightness and safety under severe conditions are required.
Key benefits
- Outstanding chemical resistance — suitable for strong acids, alkalis, steam and oxygen in most service conditions.
- Low creep / no-creep behaviour under load — maintains bolt forces even at high temperature and surface pressure, reducing the need for retightening.
- Fire-safe certified — Top-Chem 2000 is the only PTFE gasket material awarded a Fire-Safe certificate (improves safety in fire scenarios).
- High mechanical strength — performs reliably at high surface pressures and elevated temperatures.
- FDA conformity available — suitable grades for food / pharmaceutical contact where required.
Typical applications
-
Chemical processing plants (acid/alkali service).
-
Glass-lined reactors and vessels.
-
Steam and oxygen lines, high-temperature flange joints
-
Shipbuilding and marine chemical services
-
Wherever long-term tightness and reduced maintenance are critical.
Why choose TOP CHEM modified PTFE
TOP-CHEM 2000 modified PTFE combines PTFE’s unmatched chemical inertness with engineered fillers to deliver far better dimensional stability and dramatically reduced cold-flow compared with virgin PTFE. The result is a sealing material that keeps bolt loads longer, gives reliable long-term tightness under high surface pressures and elevated temperatures, and resists aggressive media — reducing maintenance downtime and retightening needs in demanding chemical and industrial applications.
