Quantum — High-flexibility HNBR-bound fibre reinforced gasket material
Quantum is a unique fiber-reinforced gasket sheet manufactured with an HNBR matrix. It combines high temperature capability, broad media resistance (oils, steam, fuels, alcohols, acids) and excellent mechanical performance — available in standard sheet sizes and custom cut gaskets.
Description
Quantum is the first fibre-reinforced gasket material produced with an HNBR binder. A special production process and a high-quality fibre/filler system allow Quantum to be used at higher temperatures and across a wider range of media than many other fibre-reinforced materials. Typical service media include oils, water, steam, gases, fuels, alcohols, weak organic and inorganic acids, hydrocarbons, lubricants and refrigerants.
Key benefits
- HNBR matrix for high flexibility at temperature — designed to preserve sealability and elasticity where conventional binders lose performance.
- Wide chemical compatibility — suitable for oils, fuels, steam and many corrosive media.
- Good creep / stress-relaxation performance — retains gasket stress under sustained flange load.
- Low leakage / high tightness — meets tightness criteria in standard test methods.
- Dielectric strength — acceptable electrical insulation properties for some specialized applications.
Applications & industries
-
Chemical, petrochemical and refining (oils, fuels, solvents)
-
Steam systems and steam-heated equipment
-
Hydraulic and lubrication systems (oil compatibility)
-
Process plants where wide media compatibility and thermal cycling exist
-
Power, marine and general industry where high-temperature flexible sealing is required.
Why choose Quantum?
Quantum is engineered to deliver unusually high flexibility at elevated temperatures thanks to its HNBR binder and fibre-reinforced construction. That combination gives Quantum a broader media compatibility and superior elastic recovery compared with conventional fibre gaskets, making it an excellent choice where oil, steam, fuels or mixed media are present and where long-term tightness and reduced maintenance are required. If you need a gasket material that keeps bolt load, copes with thermal cycling and resists a wide range of process fluids, Quantum is a leading option.

Installation & handling notes
-
Ensure flange faces are clean, flat and free from old gasket residue.
-
Use appropriate centering and, where applicable, inner/outer rings to protect the sealing face.
-
Follow recommended bolt-torque and tightening sequence — avoid over-torqueing.
