Description

Lumistar 176 is a sintered borosilicate sight glass designed as a safe, robust replacement for conventional glass in sight ports and weld-neck flange assemblies. It provides excellent resistance to impact, pressure and thermal shock while minimising the risk of sudden glass failure.

Why choose a sintered sight glass?

  • Reliability against total failure — the possibility of sudden unexpected rupture is totally excluded.

  • High resistance to bending and over-tightening; simple and fast installation with no risk of breakage.

  • Extreme resistance to impact, pressure and temperature.

  • Re-usable in the same or other applications — conventional glass is not.

  • Wide acceptance in the European & American chemical industries.

Features & benefits

  • Fail-safe performance — sintered structure prevents catastrophic failure; sudden unexpected rupture is effectively excluded.

  • High mechanical resistance — excellent resistance to bending, over-tightening and impact.

  • Thermal robustness — withstands wide temperature swings and bakeout cycles.

  • Reusable & reliable — can be used as a direct replacement for conventional glass; no increased risk of breakage during installation.

  • Wide industry acceptance — adopted across European and American chemical and process industries.

Applications

  • Circular sight ports to DIN 28121 and compatible assemblies

  • Chemical process vessels and piping where glass rupture must be prevented

  • High-pressure reactors, filtration and mixing vessels

  • Vacuum & pressure coating systems, pilot plants and laboratory vessels

  • Any installation requiring a durable, reusable sight window instead of conventional flat glass
