C-4509 High-Pressure Carbon-Fibre Gasket Sheet

C-4509 is a premium high-pressure compressed-fibre gasket material based on carbon fibres and high-temperature additives with an NBR binder and expanded-metal reinforcement — designed for demanding steam, alkaline and high-load applications.

Category:

Description

C-4509 is a special high-pressure gasket sheet developed for the most severe thermal and mechanical conditions. The core composition (carbon fibres + high temperature resistant additives, bonded with NBR) is reinforced with an expanded metal insert to deliver very high compressive strength and excellent resistance to blow-outs under heavy bolt loads. It is particularly effective in alkaline process media and steam service where stability at elevated temperatures and fluctuating loads is required.

Key benefits

  • Expanded-metal reinforcement — significantly increased compressive strength and improved blow-out resistance for high bolt loads.

  • High thermal & mechanical capability — formulated to withstand elevated temperatures and severe load cycles.

  • Carbon-fibre + NBR matrix — combines mechanical strength with broad chemical resistance (notably alkaline media and many process fluids).

  • Improved stress relaxation behaviour — more reliable sealing under pressure/temperature fluctuations.

  • Suitable for critical, high-duty joints — reduces risk of gasket failure in demanding plant environments.

Applications & industries

  • High-pressure flange gaskets in chemical plants (alkaline process lines).

  • Steam lines, superheated steam and equipment subject to thermal cycling.

  • Pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, valves and manways where high bolt loads and blow-out resistance are required.

Why choose C-4509?

Choose C-4509 when your application demands a gasket that will hold up under very high bolt loads, temperature swings and aggressive alkali/steam conditions. The expanded-metal reinforcement plus carbon-fibre/NBR construction gives superior mechanical integrity and blow-out safety compared with plain compressed fibre sheets — an excellent option for plants seeking longer service life and greater operational safety in critical joints.
