Fluorine doping lowers the refractive index below that of pure silica — enabling depressed-cladding, W-profile and trench-assisted single-mode fiber preform designs including G.657A/B low-bend-loss fiber. OH hydroxyl content is controlled below 1 ppm. All metallic impurities are below 0.005 ppm (wt). Available in three sub-grades covering OD φ10–90 mm with lengths up to 3000 mm.
